Cocoa Beans: Grown mainly in the northern
portion of the Madagascar near Ambanja, these cocoa beans are used by high quality
producers of dark chocolate. Madagascar beans mainly consist of Forastero variety,
with lesser amounts of Trinatario and Cirollo variety beans. A full fermentation of the
beans is achieved prior to being dried naturally in the sun. They are available in
Unwashed, Washed and Organic qualities. We currently ship worldwide aboard 20
ventilated containers from the port of Nosy-BeŽ. Madagascar produces approximately 300
metric tons of cocoa per year.
